A.J. the Puppy

You know, this is not the best picture ever but I think it's a perfect representative of my brother's dog, AJ. Adam and I almost killed him. We took him for a walk at like, 2AM (to see shooting stars!) and AJ decided to lick a poisonous frog. He foamed at the mouth for about an hour then we got it all under control and he's ok!

So, AJ is a little bit crazy and I think this is a funny picture. Below, you are able to see his face. And SWEET beard.

Beach Umbrella

It's supposed to protect you from the sun, but if you happen to fall asleep underneath its shade with no sun block on, you WILL get burned. I would know.

I liked this chair. It was in a hotel.

Vatican Lady

There is a ridiculous amount of art in the Vatican. I like this statue, especially the lighting.

La Tour Eiffel

I love this picture! I like how the sky is a dark blue... the Eiffel Tower looks pretty nice as well. Almost looks like a postcard picture, doesn't it?
When I went, we were able to walk up the stairs to the first and second levels for free. According to the official Eiffel Tower website, it now costs 4 euros to walk up!

Video Series - Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat

This is the song "Lucky" sung by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat and the video is performed in American Sign Language by YouTubers Ally and Aaron!!

At the beginning Ally signs the title of the song, who it's by and also that Aaron is her signing partner. I'm glad I found this particular video since I really like the song, especially since the video version by the singers is a little bit boring (plus I can't put it up on my blog anyway!!)

Florida Blues and Greens

Gulf of Mexico, FL. It's always nice to be able to go to the beach and actually swim in warm water. The beach around where I live is usually gray, full of seaweed and 64* is about as warmed up as the water gets. In case you have never gone swimming off the coast of New England 64 degrees is COLD.

Light Write

Ahh, light writing! I finally decided to try this trick with my camera and I am so happy that it worked! My camera has a long time exposure maximum of 4 seconds ("long," sure) but that was still enough time to make some fun squiggles and shapes like the star you see above!

If you have long time exposure, you can make some pretty amazing pictures. You need a flashlight or other light source and then just set your camera up in the dark. I saw this project called energie-in-motion a long time ago but didn't think my camera was up to the task. Google "light writing" to see some more coolness.

The view from the showers at the beach. That, by the way is the Gulf of Mexico.

Cloudscape

I seem to be on a lot of planes lately. This was somewhere over the Midwest on the way to the stopover Chicago. The final destination was Florida where I got a massive sunburn on my back. Lesson: try not to fall asleep in the sun.

Just Finished the Clouds

Inspiration: I saw on Flickr a whole collection of even cooler pictures where this guy is interacting in some way with the sky and clouds: SKYplay. I saw the photos, took some of my own then tried to find them again (so I could add the above link) and the searching took me FOREVER!!! And it was actually a lot harder than I thought it would be to get my arm in the right place and even then, it's a tiny bit off. Whatever though, I think it looks cool!

Sunset Skies

We've had a few really nice sunsets lately. The sky was a really nice orange and faded to this nice pinky purpley color. This is the front of the house.

Red, White and Blue GLITTER

July the 4th, 2009.
That is me,
As you can see,
Wearing a ridiculous hat!

It was coated in glitter
Which did litter
My hair, my hands--
EVERYTHING!

Um, I really hope you liked my poem about the 4th of July. I started writing and noticed it kinda rhymed so I went with it. This year I went to a family (not my own) reunion and it was an all-day affair in which everyone was required to wear at least one red, white and blue article such as a lei, baseball hat, bandanna... only a lucky few got to wear the glittered-up, ultra-patriotic Uncle Sam top hat. And you could instantly tell who tried it on/ had it put on their head against their will because of the telltale glitter streaked across their foreheads and hair.

I was one of the latter. The hostess (Aunt Joany) went around and made sure all guests had on at least one of the said colored articles. I thought I was in the clear since my outfit was already these colors, but apparently not. Aunt Joany asked my why I did not have on my lei (which I hastily threw over my head before she could hand me one or three more) or hat 'because everyone was wearing a hat' (except her, which I pointed out to her). Once she realized her hipocracy she jammed on the hat in her hand and said "I'll be right back with a hat for you!" and I tried to tell her that it was alright with me-- but she was already gone.

I should have taken that opportunity to hide. Instead the sneaky Aunt Joany crept up behind me as I innocently ate a pasta salad and she dropped the glitter monster onto my head. There was nothing I could have done.

So perhaps that explains my expression a little bit. I had glitter on my head for at least 2 days. Hope you had a happy fourth!

Doggy

Sometimes Petey comes to visit me in my room. I had him on my lap for a little while then put him on my chair while I got up for something. When I saw my chair again, I said awwww and got my camera. He's only 10.5lbs! Down from his all-time high of 16lbs...
