Diana's Lilacs
There was a local contest recently that focused on lilacs and I thought since I liked these flowers anyway that I'd see if any of the pictures I took could possibly be winners. I was very casual about the contest and didn't end up submitting any-- lilacs are not that easy to photograph in a very creative way unless your camera has a great zoom (in my opinion). Most of my pictures looked exactly the same- big splashes of purple. They do, however, look great as desktop backgrounds.
Look at this one! It has 8 petals- most have 4!

Video Series - Matt and Kim
This is in a Bacardi commercial (the one with the guy walking 'back thru time' to get to the bar for a fresh Mojito) It's an interesting commercial... you can watch it on YouTube :)

Golden Lights 4
Well, I saw another Golden Corral when I was in Virgina and I just couldn't walk by it without at least taking another few crazy pictures (since I had so much fun with the last ones). For this one, I made sure the the flash was off then just rotated my wrist.

Moving Sale Signage
This is the sign I left up for 2 weeks, accidentally. Which is currently in my trunk. Oh and by the way the red totally ran off by the next morning so I had to go back and make some new arrows in black.
I included this picture because I wanted to remember how hard I worked on that moving sale and all those signs. Moving stinks!
Also, signage is a real word. I thought it was like "ginormous"... you know what it means, but it's not quite real... and you would never use it in any context in which you wanted to be taken seriously.

Walking On the Sky
Love the sky in this one, thought the signs would be fun to take a picture of. I suppose I could have moved a little to get the building out of the shot, but I still really, really like this picture.

More Flowers
I can't help posting this picture!! I don't think I could ever get tired of looking at pretty flowers, especially since there are so many of them on this planet. It's always nice to have some pretty flowers in your own yard too! I particularly like that everything else in the picture is a little bit darker than the flower, so it really pops!

Action Shot Petey
Even though this one is a little blurry (it's an action shot!) I really like that Petey's eyes have a little sunbeam shining on them. Nice timing!

Storm Sky
I did no editing to this picture; this is what color the sky was one night before it stormed! It was the strangest orange color and what was more strange was the entire sky (not just the west) was lit up in this color!

Greenhouse Color Explosion
I pass a greenhouse and flower nursery on my way home from work and one day I brought my camera with me and stopped in. There were a million flowers blooming inside and out and it was really beautiful.

Morning Light
I couldn't fall asleep one night and at 4am when it started getting light, I went down stairs with my camera. I noticed the moon and one bright star near it (you can barely see them both, in the branches of the bigger tree). It was very quiet and a little cold. The light came up very slowly and I could watch the moon and it's little star move across the sky. I think I finally went to sleep around 6.

Video Series - Regina Spektor
This is the video for "Fidelity" by Regina Spektor. Enjoy!
When I was in London for study abroad I didn't have a computer so I spent a lot of time in the computer lab. This is one song I found on a BBC website that I could play on auto-repeat, so needless to say, I listened to this song constantly while I worked.

Breaking Dawn
Yeah... I'm one of those people. I LOVE TWILIGHT!! In case you are not familiar, this is book #4 in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn. It's not really a wonderful picture, BUT I wanted to share it anyway, since I've been reading the whole series (back to back) pretty much constantly since January. Yeah, it's that good. :-D

The Family on a Walk
We take our doggy on a big walk every day, about 2 miles. Here we are at the beginning of another one.

Helicopters
We've had a rainy spring and summer which might be the reason there were so many of these helicopters on the maple tree this year. I don't think I've ever seen so many before. And one day they all spiraled off the tree and coated the whole yard, driveway and our cars!

Cactus Blooms
I really like cacti. They don't need much water, so if you forget to water them for a few weeks, they don't care! And sometimes they surprise you with some flowers, which is always nice. This one happened to bloom all the way around which was kind of neat, for this plant. Usually there are like one or two blooms and they're just randomly placed.

Tabby and Midnight
It's not apparent from this particular picture, but these two cats hate each other. I've cat-sat for our neighbors who got them as little kitties maybe ten years ago (or more). Whenever they see each other, Midnight puffs up, hisses, growls and does whatever she can to make Tabby go away. Usually, she ends up streaking away, not to be seen for at least 24 hours (though she did disappear for three days, one time. Don't worry, I left out food for her).
And here, they look positively loving!

Evening Lilacs
I think this picture is really cool. And even though you can't really tell, that is a lilac bush, full of purple flowers.
