I have not see (500) Days of Summer but I'd like to, especially after seeing this complimentary video. The star Zooey Deschanel says a quick intro then the magic begins. Please enjoy "The Bank Dance."
I want to learn this dance, don't you? My favorite part is when he checks his watch on top of the desk!

Rockefeller Ice
The crowds let up as soon as we got around the ice rink. We went in the correct direction to be able to beat the crowd and look directly over the rink. It was pretty cool.

Rockefeller Tree
I was walking and taking a picture which made the tree blur like crazy. This was one location where the crowds were packed!

Winter Blues and Greens
I think instead of calendars having snowy landscapes in winter, they should have hot weather images. Ahh, that water looks nice!

Poe's Black Bird
I felt like Edgar Allan Poe was around... can you see the bird sitting in the tree? No? How about a closer look:
Creepy dead tree with a black bird just sitting there...

You can't Tell, But it's Halloween
I can't believe that I went to the Halloween parade in NYC and took pictures of buildings and not people! It was raining pretty hard a lot of the time. I must have seen 6 Lady Gagas and a whole coven of vampires. And I had my first black and white cookie. THEY ARE AMAZING!!

Sailing up the Hudson
We took an autumn cruise on the Hudson River all the way up to the Tappan Zee Bridge. It took a looong time but it was a beautiful day and nice and warm despite it being almost November.

City at Night
We had to get back to New Jersey on the same boat that conveyed us to the Bronx, and since the game went until almost midnight, we got to see Manhattan as just lights against the blackness. I think that might be the Brooklyn bridge... I think it looks pretty cool!

Ahh, I Think Someone Hit a Homer
We GOT UP TO LEAVE thinking nothing was going to happen and then all of a sudden people started going crazy!! (Hey, it was the 12th inning or something crazy like that)
Hey, I think they won!

Statue of Liberty
Aboard the Yankee Clipper on our way to game 2 of the ALDS: Yankees vs. Angels (10/9/09). The Yankees won and I couldn't decide if I could bring myself to cheer.

Desktop Background 4
Petey was just so cute that there was no time to add any sort phrase before this became the background. Too bad I cut off his little halo that's hovering over his head, right? Awwwwww

Desktop Background 3
Petey thinks of treats. This is a really huge picture of the dog when it's up on the background. It's larger than the real Petey's head.

Desktop Background 2
Now it's week two with computer sharing and it looks kind of the same as last week.... Actual quote: "I thought you were going to change the background! Oh... I'm going to kill you."
Fact 1: My dad likes to make up words sometimes (don't we all?) For instance, in stead of saying "shrimp" he sometimes calls them "strimps" but it sounds like "striiimps!"
Fact 2: He also likes to repeat certain phrases and words.
Fact 3: Fact 2 drives my mother CRAZY!
So as soon as he sees the underlined word above, I predict he will say it, repeatedly for about a week. I love you mom!

Desktop Background 1
Lately, we have combined computers and are sharing my computer tower with the rest of the junk that attached to the family computer (including the rather large flat screen monitor). Since this is now a shared computer, SOMEONE didn't like the desktop background that I already had so I made a new one! We will be sharing this computer setup for about 4 weeks so I joked that I would change the background every week... and so here is week one.
As you can see, it's Petey yet again, but if you look closely you can see that he is thinking something...

Highly Successful Tomato Harvest
I intended to grow a 'salsa garden' this summer, with tomatoes, peppers, onions and a few herbs that, together, would produce salsa... but I planted the tomatoes and peppers too late, the onions got washed away and I left my herbs unwatered for one day too long and they were gonners. This tomato is from a store bought plant and one of about 6 tomatoes that I eventually picked.

Filled Up Car
Well, you can't really tell, but my car was STUFFED with my boxes of essentials. We are headed to a furnished apartment for about a month until our new place is ready for us. Petey got his own seat for the 4.5 hour drive to New Jersey.

Here's a Tissue
At this point, the contents of the house are already in the moving van and gone. We decided to take some pictures in front of the house to cry over when we leave. (I used the 2 second timer, which is why I have the slightly crazed look on my face. I think)

Garden Snake
I found this little guy molting on our front steps. It looked wedged in the crack between the steps and the wall, but I guess it wasn't since it eventually escaped! When it moved, it make this crackling noise as it crawled out of its skin!!!

Future Apple Pie
New England apple picking. We go to this orchard every year to get a big bag of apples which end up as applesauce and sometimes an apple pie!

Dreams
I had a dream about my Grandma this morning. She was happy and talking to me and I had a sense that she was glad to be free. When I woke up I was sad but unsurprised to find out she had passed away during the night.
Love you, Grandma.

Funny Joke
I was surfing the net and came across this gem. For some reason, I thought this was the funniest joke I had heard in a long time:
So of course I wrote it down to tell everyone. And everyone I told it to already knew it. I still laughed anyway.

High Fives!
This is a shed at the baseball fields by our house. Those hand prints are just dirt as far as I can tell but they've been there for a while.
